City Awarded $392,400 Grant for Bike Trails

Project Overview
The trail will ultimately provide 8.5 miles of trails throughout the community. It will link five schools, providing a safe route and        outdoor classrooms for school children. When possible, the trail will be eight feet wide and paved with asphalt or concrete. The trail planning process has been subdivided into phases. Phase I of the trail will provide safe access to River Park and the downtown business community from as far away as Red Bluff High School. Phase II will connect Red Bluff High School to Forward Park, Samuel Ayer Park, Ide Adobe Park, and the Red Bluff Diversion Dam Recreational area.

Estimated Timeline
The project will progress through a standard process including planning, engineering, and construction. The County of Tehama has adopted the Tehama County Bikeways Plan and completed the feasibility study for the Red Bluff portion of the trail system. Engineering and construction will be phased starting in 2002.

Trail System Funding
The trail will be funded by outside funding sources. There will be no increased taxes or fees.
